Will Mills – Signifly
Holden wrote the feature piece for a quarterly magazine we created on behalf of America’s oldest jeweler, Bixlers. We were reinventing the magazine, transforming it from a catalog-style publication into something more substantial, with in-depth editorials and feature stories. We’d set up an interview in Montreal with a world champion kickboxer, not knowing yet where the story would lead, but recognizing the potential with his upcoming title fight. The brief we gave Holden was open-ended—he had only the interview transcript to work with. But he returned with a beautifully crafted piece that seamlessly wove together Bixlers, the magazine’s theme of devotion, and the fighter’s words. It was a level of thoughtfulness and imagination that’s rare to find in a writer. His unique spin on the story brought a personal touch that was truly engaging.
Throughout the process, Holden played a huge role in keeping things on track—from meeting initial deadlines to making edits requested by the editor, the brand, and even the fighter himself. He was incredibly easy to work with and ensured everything ran smoothly right up to print.
